My story

Ever met a 70-pound lapdog? Now’s your chance! 🥰 If you’re looking for a best friend who’s equal parts goofball and cuddlebug, Rufus might just be your guy. He’s fully convinced he’s a lapdog, and you’ll often find him trying to squeeze in beside you — or plop right on top of you — whether you're watching TV or working from home. Rufus is always up for an adventure. Car rides? He’s all in. Trail hikes? Even better. He thrives on outdoor time and would make a great companion for someone with an active lifestyle. At home, he’s a mellow, easygoing guy. He’s house-trained, crate-trained (though he’d prefer to skip the crate when he can), and does great when left alone. Rufus is wonderful with kids and gets along well with other dogs, especially smaller ones. He’s also respectful of older or more reserved pups. While he’s happy to nap the day away, he looks forward to his daily zoomies — so a home with space to run or regular daycare visits would help keep him happy and balanced. 💊 He’s currently undergoing heartworm treatment here at Baypath and is expected to make a full recovery. Through it all, his tail hasn’t stopped wagging. Rufus is loving, loyal, and sure to make you laugh with his silly antics. All he needs now is someone to share it all with. Could that be you?
