*** Dean Winchester is at Cat & Craft in Vista. ***Dean #19589: gray & white tuxedo, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 4/2/24Cats: enjoys a wrestling buddyDogs: unknownChildren: likely good BACKGROUND: On a college campus, a familiar figure was often found on the steps of the library: “The Dean”—a gray and white tuxedo cat who had become a campus legend weaving through the legs of passing students and attending open-air lectures as if he were auditing the coursework. One student couldn’t help but notice, though, that though he was adored by many and known by name, Dean didn’t have a home. Determined to change that, she reached out to The Rescue House and got him started on the road to find a family he can call his own.PERSONALITY: Dean Winchester is a very vocal kitty who craves human interaction and makes sure his presence is known and you are always in sight. He is a kitty who goes all-in with his emotions and desires: to play, to cuddle, to eat, to love, to be part of the family and fully engaged in all household activities. Dean loves the thrill of the chase with a teaser wand or laser pointer so he can show off his sharp reflexes; as a food enthusiast, he shows his clear appreciation of everything you serve, wrapping up a meal with chirps and purrs of contentment. He is a big fan of human contact, and wants plenty of petting (gentle back strokes, chin scritches, ear rubs, brushing, it’s all good) and opportunities to nestle in your lap. Dean’s not just a lap cat, he’s a heart stealer, and his affectionate side shows brightest when he’s close to his favorite humans (he may fall asleep on your reclined chest, awwww).COMPATIBILITY: Dean has been very curious and playful with the resident cats in his foster home; he’s easy to introduce on his side, though his sometimes overenthusiastic methods of play to initiate tumbles and chases mean that you’ll want to do introductions at the comfort level of the other cats and they should be okay long-term with him tackling them in good fun. We don’t know his thoughts on dogs. He would likely do well with children and needs lots of attention and enrichment. The Dean builds strong emotional bonds with those who care for him, and fills the room with his warm and lively companionship. His vocalizations, his curiosity, his love of cuddles—they all speak to a cat who sees himself as part of the family. Will he complete yours?
