Lilly is in a foster home while she waits for her forever home. If you are interested in meeting with her, please send an email to PRAS-FOSTER@NNVA.GOV.Meet Lilly – Your Sweet, Gentle Snugglebug!Breed: Beagle Mix Age: Adult Size: Medium Fostered in a home with catsLooking for a calm, loving companion? Lilly might be your perfect match! She’s a gentle sweetheart who adores people, cuddles, and calm companionship. Lilly is the kind of dog who greets everyone like a long-lost friend – she’ll melt your heart with her affectionate nature.*Personality*Lilly is totally sweet and gentle. She loves meeting new people and leans in for pets and cuddles. She’s quiet for a beagle, with the exception of a few happy squeals when you come home! Loud noises and fast movements can startle her, so she does best in a calm, reassuring environment. Gentle correction works wonders with her – she wants to please! She lives peacefully with a cat in her foster home and may have played more if the cat had been interested. Lilly is non-reactive to dogs and squirrels outdoors and is curious to meet other dogs, though she hasn’t been introduced on leash yet.*Training & Manners*Lilly is very food-motivated (tiny pieces of Pupperoni are her favorite!), and she has come a long way with training. She now knows:SitWalk nicely on leashLeave it (important for walks!)Kennel upQuietShe’s no longer interested in eating inappropriate things like her own waste, and “Leave it” has been essential for keeping her safe on walks.*House Training*Lilly is well-mannered in the home and doesn’t chew on furniture. She sometimes digs a little before lying down, so her foster places a blanket on the couch to protect the upholstery. Since resolving some health issues, her house training has improved significantly. While she can’t hold it for a full 10-hour workday, she successfully uses pee pads when left in an exercise pen with her bed, water, and pad. She’s typically clean overnight and has done well when left loose for shorter periods. She would absolutely love to sleep in bed with her humans and will thrive with a family that’s home more often or can give her regular potty breaks (ideally every 3 hours).*Activities & Interests*Lilly isn’t much for toys, but she loves long walks, sniffing everything, and of course, cuddling. She`s all about calm, affectionate bonding time with
