My story

Estimated DOB 10-31-24 I was born outside in some trees around October of 2924. In December when I was old enough, my Momma Kitty brought me (and my 2 siblings Dasher and Vixen) to this cool place called “Cat Camp” where this nice lady had food and warm shelter. I loved it so much that I stayed and watched the resident cats through the door as they played. At night I would sometimes sleep in the heated food bowl to stay warm! Within 2 months, I let the nice lady pet me and then pick me up and bring me inside where it was even warmer. I was a little scared at first but I became attached to one of the resident cats who is my BFF now and he showed me it was okay to be inside where it was safe. I now weigh 5 lbs as of March 12, 2025. My Mom named me Rudy because it was Christmas time and I had a little red nose. I am learning how to be a kitten instead of just learning survival skills. As part of socialization, I have been introduced to all parts of the house, different objects, other cats and people, and different experiences—all to help me adjust to new situations. I am starting to exhibit all of the behaviors of adult cats, trying more daring and complex feats, using my body language to communicate with my foster Mom and seeking out attention. I am getting more skilled and adventurous, learning so much from the resident cats! I learned to use the litter box right away, I’m scratching on scratch posts and pads, and I have learned to jump on and off my foster Mom’s bed. (I like to sneak up and lay next to her head when she is sleeping) I don’t bite or use my claws when playing with my foster Mom and I’m getting used to loud noises such as a blow dryer and vacuum cleaners. I’m running and playing with the other cats, I like to wrestle with cat nip fish toys, chase ping pong pong balls, and I LOVE squeezable treats! I also love tunnels, toy mice and sleeping in the cat tree cradle. I have learned my name and I make cute little vibrating sounds with my voice when I see my favorite BFF resident cat. I am a little shy at first but I purr when being pet and will snuggle in your neck when held. I have not met a dog or children yet but I have adjusted so well to other things and I think I would be okay. I would really love to find my fur-ever home soon and would love to have another kitty friend to keep me company.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rudy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
