Meet Kraken – The Softie with a Playful Side At about 1.5 years old and 55 lbs, Kraken is a gentle, soulful pup who’s just beginning to find his confidence. Though his name might sound fierce, he’s anything but—Kraken is a tender-hearted boy who adores his people and loves nothing more than leaning in for pets and reassurance. He can be a little timid in new environments, but he’s not alone—Kraken looks to his humans for comfort and guidance, and with a little encouragement, he begins to come out of his shell. Once he feels safe, his playful side starts to shine, and he’ll happily romp around the yard or explore with curious enthusiasm. Kraken has been working on his leash skills and is making great progress! He doesn't pull, though he sometimes zigzags as he takes in the world around him—but who can blame him when there’s so much to see? This sweet boy is looking for a patient, loving home that will continue building his confidence and give him the time and support he needs to fully blossom. In return, Kraken will give you his full heart, lots of gentle cuddles, and a loyal companion for life. Kraken would likely enjoy and possibly even benefit from having a canine companion. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
