My story

Ideal Home: Patient and with another friendly feline 🐾Qualities: Reserved, Purr-fesional treat tester, Actually Not a Fan of Vegetables 🥕Meet Broccoli, a 5 year old dapper boy who is learning to love his new indoor life. This brocc-star enjoys napping, gentle pets, and especially cat friends. With those beautiful green eyes and handsome cheeks, he leafs are quick impression on your heart... and treat bag. He arrived to Ten Lives after who knows how long trying to survive on the streets. He is slowly warming up and getting more comfortable with his foster dad each day. Slow pets are going well and Broccoli is building his bond, with his foster dad being extremely confident that Broccoli will be a wonderful, loving cat with an owner who is patient, reads his cues and lets him move at his own pace.Broccoli is looking for a home with another friendly feline to continue to show him the ropes of being a beloved and spoiled indoor cat. Time is important with Broccoli, who will need extra of it to settle in. His unsure demeanor during dinner time and petting are just  small glimpses into what Broccoli's past life must have endured. His FIV+ status and what appears to be a bb bullet under his skin tells more. We are dedicated to his happiness, health, and trust, and finding his forever person who will love and protect him for all 10 lives. Broccoli has been through a lot in life but he knows how to sprout good vibes. This handsome boy is now accepting adoption applications and looks forward to meeting someone as special as him ❤️Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a cat-specific virus that cannot be passed onto dogs or humans. FIV is spread through deep bite wounds, typically seen on outdoor male cats who have not been neutered. It's rarely spread through grooming, sharing bowls, or litter boxes. Due to limited volunteer power, applications submitted for cats or kittens no longer available will not be reviewed. About Ten Lives:Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization located in Rhode Island. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat. Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience! All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
