My story

NOTE: SCRAPPY IS WITH HIS RESCUER IN BRENTWOOD (EAST BAY), CA. GSRSV HAS NOT MET SCRAPPY. WE ARE LISTING SCRAPPY ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS ON THIS WEBSITE TO GIVE HIM MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. “Scrappy” is a small (approx 45 lbs), 2-3 yo neutered male GSD mix who is energetic, curious and protective. Scrappy is healthy and up-to-date on core vaccinations. You can leave him in the yard all day and he just finds a chair to sit in and chill. Scrappy is a mixed bag when it comes to strangers. Sometimes he is friendly, other times he barks menacingly at them. However, if he is offered a biscuit, then Scrappy immediately drops his guard. Scrappy has been fine with the pre-teen children he has met; he does not appear to have any fear of children. Scrappy is nervous around other dogs and will bark at them, especially when he’s on leash. Scrappy is NOT good with cats. Scrappy is housetrained and has likely received some basic obedience training. He responds well to some basic commands. Scrappy walks fine on leash, unless he sees another dog—then he gets agitated. He also gets upset by unconventional vehicles such as golf carts. Scrappy’s adopter David keeps him in the backyard when he’s gone. Scrappy does fine in the yard all day; he just finds a chair to sit in and chill. Scrappy sleeps in the garage at night. David has had let him sleep inside his bedroom, where Scrappy did fine, but he lives with people who are uncomfortable having a dog inside. Scrappy enjoys going for car rides and is a good passenger for the most part. Scrappy would be fine as an only dog. When left alone, he doesn't dig or even chew on anything. David adopted Scrappy from the Ceres animal shelter in February simply to keep him from being euthanized. David never had plans to keep Scrappy long-term, and is now seeking a good, permanent home for him. Scrappy is located in Brentwood (East Bay), CA. His adoption fee is $50. Please contact David Safi at 925-877-0308 or davidsafi94@gmail.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Scrappy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
