My story

Mellow, Curious, Snuggly Ducky is such a sweet and mellow cat! Once she knows you, she loves to snuggle and nap in your lap. She also likes to chat you up and tell you about her day, but she’s politely quiet all night She’s curious and loves to explore. She also enjoys interactive play with a wand toy, though her favorite pastime is lounging around, preferably in the same room where you are. If you’re busy, she will happily watch birds and squirrels from a window perch. Her foster says she makes the cutest little chirps when watching birds. This gentle little girl will be the sweetest addition to your family. She’s the perfect balance of calm and lively. Ducky has recently been diagnosed with lymphoma. To keep her comfortable, we have her on two medications: prednisolone, and gabapentin. She’s currently stable, feeling good, and looking for someone to cuddle with! Check out her photos to see her champion couch-sitting. Girl knows how to lounge. Lucky Ducky has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Lucky Ducky can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about Lucky Ducky’s care. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Lucky Ducky, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lucky Ducky, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
