My story

Location: Spring Valley, WI Everyone meet Beatrice (the pupper formally known as as Raquel), Hello, I’m Bea, or as my foster family calls me: sweet girl, lady, Beatrix, Bea, big girl, and brave girl. Some may wonder why they gave me this silly “old time name” well, it’s because my foster dad and foster sister were saying random names to get my attention since Raquel wasn’t working and Beatrice was the one I actually came to! So in a way, you can say I picked this name all by myself, who gets to say THAT about their name?! When I first got to my foster home I was really scared and didn’t want to leave my safe place (aka my kennel). But then, the people and kids here were so sweet to me I really started to warm up to them. Now I love to play, hang out with my foster mom, foster dad, and the kids, go for walks around their property, and chew on chew toys. I also like to learn new tricks, currently I know kennel up, sit, outside, and I’m working on come, up, and shake! I really love treats, so when treats are involved I get pretty excited about showing how smart I am! Speaking of tricks, I have only ever had one accident in the house and it was my second day here when I was still so scared of everyone. Since then, I have only gone potty outside! I like playing with the kids here in the house, my foster sister had a sleep over with 7 extra girls and I really liked meeting all of them and getting the pets and love they gave me. I also tried really hard to play with the little dog my foster mom’s friend brought over but he didn’t like me very much. My foster mom said she’s going to introduce me to more dogs but when I’m outside I sometimes get scared of dogs that are walking by, especially the ones that are black, my foster mom thinks there was a dog who looked like that that wasn’t nice to me before I got here. Since I’m a puppy sometimes I get the zoomies or will chew on things that my foster siblings leave on the floor, I am learning what are my toys and what are not but I do love to chew so chew toys are a must! I have gone on 1 car ride since coming here and at first it was scary but my foster mom told me it was ok, gave me lots of pets, and helped me realize I was safe. I will be going on more car rides to get used to them! My foster brother and foster dad still make me a little nervous but they are so sweet and I’m learning to like them too! I have seen little tiny humans before but have only been around kids that are 7 and older, when I have my zoomies I sometimes move pretty fast so I would need practice with little humans. I am really learning how to be a puppy again, and I’m hoping my future furever family will have kids I can play with because they are so fun, a doggy brother or sister would be pretty cool too, but as long as I can play and get my energy out thats ok because that’s what I really love to do. I can’t wait to meet you and show you how sweet and cool I am! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Raquel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
