My story

MIKEY's is a sweet 8 year old, 7 lb Chihuahua. Please read this entire description, before submitting an inquiry. ORIGIN: MIKEY was brought in as a stray at a local shelter. He was on the adoption floor, but has little chance of finding a forever home, since he has a 5/6 heart murmur. HEALTH: Mikey is a happy boy with lots of energy, now that he is on the correct medication. However, our veterinarian suggested that he NOT be placed under anestesia for neuter or dental. THUS, we got a county waiver that he remain intact, due to health issues. We did, however, find a veterinarian who was able to clean his teeth without anestesia. MIKEY's PERSONALITY: So often, dogs seem to be intimidated by men. Not Mikey. He seems to like men..... and children and other dogs... and cats... and everyone. He walks well on a leash and the sweetheart of the "doggie clan". He seems housetrained, but no guarantees. He loves gentle massages and eagerly takes his daily medication. He seems to know the meds are what keeps him going. RORESCUE NOTES: We are looking for an adopter who will give Mikey a safe loving home and continue doggie meds for life. Please note: Mikey has a small area with sparse hair on his back. The vet said not to worry about it. He may have been crated or continually rubbing that area and damaged the hair follicles. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At RoRescue, we strive to match the dog's personality to the best possible future home. This, in no way, casts judgement on the potential adopter. Our primary concern is the dog's future safety, health and happiness. ALL RORESCUE DOGS are vet checked, spayed/neutered, dental cleaning (if needed), microchipped and UTD on shots. We do NOT adopt to: * adopters who intend for the dog to live outside. * out-of area or out of state locations. * homes where someone smokes cigarettes inside the home * homes without a secure fenced yard. * homes with chain link or wrought iron view fences with escape spaces * homes without a safety fence around their pool
