Despite his name, Brutus is more lover than fighter—unless you’re a squirrel, in which case... fair warning.This handsome gentleman is firmly in his golden years, but don’t let that fool you—he’s still got plenty of pep in his step, especially when there are treats, pets, or a comfy spot on the couch involved. Brutus is the definition of a velcro dog—he’ll follow you from room to room like it’s his full-time job (and he takes his job very seriously).Brutus arrived at our shelter with his lifelong best friend Lady after a tragic house fire forced their owners to give them up. Through it all, they’ve remained a tight-knit, tail-wagging duo, leaning on each other with the kind of bond that only years of love can create. They’re looking to write their next chapter together, so be sure to check out Lady too!While Brutus is a gentle giant with people, he does have a “no thanks” policy when it comes to small animals. His inner prey drive is alive and well—gerbils and guinea pigs need not apply. (He insists it’s just instinct and not personal.)If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who comes with a built-in best friend and a whole lot of heart, Brutus (and Lady!) are ready to move in and never leave your side.
