My story

WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi hi! My name is Jewel. ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a very girly girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born on June 10, 2022! WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a darling French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh around 24 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a very pretty, petite French Bulldog with beautiful silky fur and an adorable little face with large ears. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I am a bit of a picky eater and very much prefer wet food mixed in with my kibble. I have also learned how AMAZING it is to get treats in between my meals. What a luxury that is, right? Yum! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m a very sweet girl, and I absolutely love attention! I am all about physical touch, so bring on the belly rubs…and please don’t stop! I’m very affectionate and want to be around my humans at all times. I am playful and love doing zoomies around the backyard, but mostly I love to snuggle. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I start by running full speed out of my crate straight out the back door for my morning potty. My favorite thing in the world, other than cuddles with the humans, is my daily walk, so let’s hit the road! Then I come home from my fabulous walk and snuggle with my foster mom on the couch. When my foster dad comes home from work, I run zoomies around the house and play with him. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I have not really warmed up to the idea of playing with toys just yet. I’m more about the humans, and getting love from them is my entertainment for now. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I am really good at responding to the command to “sit.” Did I mention how much I love treats? Maybe you can give me some treats and teach me some new tricks? WHAT SCARES YOU? It takes me time to get comfortable with new people, places, and other dogs I don’t know. But with patience and a little time, I figure out I am safe and will be everyone’s best friend! HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I have not been around kids yet. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I haven’t met one yet. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I have a canine foster sister and we are still getting to know each other. I really like her, though, so I am confident that I can get along with other dogs as long as you introduce us slowly and give us time and space to figure it all out. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? On a walk exploring the world and then after that, anywhere my humans are. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m very healthy, but get itchy with allergies. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with an amazing foster mom and dad, and my canine foster sister. I love my whole foster family, but my favorite is my foster mom because she and I spend the most time together cuddling. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I take naps in my cozy crate. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I am such a good girl sleeping like an angel in my crate. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I LOVE walks! It is my absolute favorite thing to get out in the world to explore all the sights and sounds and smells. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I love attention and am sometimes a little overexcited about asking for it, so I am working on not jumping up so much. It’s hard, though! ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes. I’m a very good girl, so just show me where to go and I will figure it out! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I will drink it and, if you must bathe me, I will cooperate. But I’m a Frenchie, so I need to be kept safe from larger bodies of water, please. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that they spend time with me, and that I am a part of their daily routine. I love being in the middle of the action! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I can’t remember a lot of it, but I do know that I was used for breeding, which was not the life that I dreamt of having. That is all in the past now and I’m focusing on the future. Perhaps you and I can explore what that future would look like?
