Dusty didn’t spend his early days ruling the savanna or starring in a nature documentary—nope, he was stuck with humans who clearly didn’t deserve his fabulousness. Somehow, they overlooked the fact that they had a literal gem of a dog and let him end up in a shelter. And before you think, “Oh, maybe they just didn’t know better,” let me stop you right there. The neglect started way before that. Our poor little lion cub came in with some serious hair loss, probably thanks to flea bite dermatitis—which is just a fancy way of saying he was basically an all-you-can-eat buffet for fleas.
