My story

Meet Brittney! She's a smaller dog with some big dog energy. Brittney loves to run around and play with other dogs and when she's finally worn out she loves to snuggle with her people. She is a bit unsure of people at first, but once she's met them she's totally confident with anyone. Brittney will light up your life with her playful nature and loves to get the zoomies out running around the fields at the trails home farm. She will take a couple quick laps and then seek out her people for attention and treats. ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 25 pounds KNOWN WITH DOGS: Brittney enjoys playing with other dogs of all sizes. She can be forward and mouthy at first and has a generally energetic play style, so does great with dogs that match that energy. KNOWN WITH CATS: Brittney met a cat politely at the vet. If you are interested in learning more about her with cats, let us know and we'll work on getting that information! KNOWN WITH KIDS: Brittney met several children at adoption events, though she can be jumpy for attention. She has done well meeting kids as young as 5. KNOWN CUES: Sit, Down, 'sit pretty', and is working on 'spin' KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Brittney walks easily into her crate and settles nicely, though she can get excited when there is a lot of activity outside. KNOWN LIKES: Pets from and hanging out with trusted friends, sniffing, other dogs, treats. KNOWN DISLIKES: New and loud things can be scary at first. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Brittney was surrendered to a rural shelter partner in Tazewell County, but we do not know why. She is still getting to know our busy urban environment and would love a family who can help her build her confidence at her pace. She loves to hang out with dogs as well as her trusted human friends, and can regularly be found cuddling by their side. Brittney was spayed before coming to Homeward Trails.
