My story

Moses is a sweet, loving dog who recently came back to rescue after quite a bit of time. He has endured a lot of trauma over his short life & is looking for something pretty specific in his new home! Read on to learn all about this little hunk of love.   Moses’ puppy months were spent in a Kentucky hoarding situation, and he is especially scared of men. He is not aggressive but will bark/growl, avoid, and stay to himself when men are around. He barks at new people when they come into the room or the home. He was adopted & returned after 2 years. I suspect, that was due to his reaction to new people and that he didn’t like a man in the picture. He tends to attach to only one person in the home, usually female, making it challenging for anyone else to get close to him. He does show curiosity and allows his back to be pet, even when he is avoiding…he has never snapped or bitten, but it seems clear that he will never seek out attention from anyone other than “mom”. He has been in a few foster homes for temporary care and he struggled in each one when more than one person lived in the home. To avoid another home that is not a good fit for him, the BEST place for Moses would be with a person who lives alone (preferably female) or an extremely patient household that will understand it will take him a long time to be comfortable. His ideal owner would understand his fear of new people and use his crate effectively when people visit the home. He prefers to curl up in his crate when too many people are around anyway, so it’s a win-win situation for Moses and house guests. He will allow dog sitters or friends to put his leash on him and take him for walks, so that isn’t a problem. He is just very worried when there are multiple people. He doesn’t understand how to trust or want attention from more than one person at a time. He previously lived with a cat, in an apartment and did fine. While Moses is extremely shy at first, with another dog, his confidence comes out almost immediately. He does not require a dog friend in his fur-ever home and mostly wants to play with a calmer dog, instead of a crazy puppy, if there is another dog. He really loves dogs but not those that jump all over him and don’t take cues saying “leave me alone”.   Now that you’ve made it past his quirks… He kennels perfectly & doesn’t make a peep. He eats & sleeps all night in his kennel. He is 100% potty trained and has had no marking or accidents in the house, so a kennel isn’t necessary but it does provide him a space to feel safe if needed. He doesn’t chew on things he is not supposed to, loves bones & squeaky toys, and rolling around in the grass. He is a little overweight so walks are great for his diet journey! He walks beautifully on a leash.  He is a medium sized dog with a BIG heart, and is just looking for a patient, loving home who will show him safety and snuggles fur-ever. He is a wonderful couch potato buddy but would also be a great hiking partner, as he does want to please. He doesn’t bark in the yard or in the house but will bark & do a very crazy/hilarious dance when its time for dinner.  Moses loves to sleep on top of his person at night or glued to your side & will follow you EVERYWHERE you go! When he falls in love it is FOREVER!     Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $475.00/span>  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 2, 2025, 9:54 pm
