Leif’s journey hasn’t been easy—this sweet boy was found as a stray, severely matted and underweight, but his spirit remained unbreakable. Now, with love and care, he’s blossoming into the devoted, affectionate pup he was always meant to be. Once Leif realizes he’s safe and loved, he loves hard in return. He becomes a loyal little shadow, following his foster mom everywhere, always wanting to be close to his person. At night, he sleeps soundly beside anyone who gives him love, soaking up the comfort he once didn’t have. Leif is great with other dogs and does well with gentle children who respect small pups. He’s also a fantastic car rider and knows how to use the dog door at his foster home. While crates aren’t his favorite, he much prefers curling up beside someone who makes him feel safe. Since being rescued, he’s gained a pound and is still working on getting to a healthy weight, but what he lacks in size, he makes up for in endless love and devotion. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you with all his heart, Leif is ready to be your most loyal, loving companion.
