My story

Martin is a thoughtful, gentle-eyed boy still learning that the world doesn’t have to be so scary. Found wandering near a church with his leash still attached, it’s clear that someone once cared about him—but somewhere along the way, Martin got lost, in more ways than one. When he first came to us, he was skittish and overwhelmed, but even then, he took treats gently and slowly began to open up. And when he saw a familiar face the next day? His little tail wagged with recognition. That’s Martin’s heart—soft, loyal, and eager to connect, even when he’s unsure. He’s made a lot of progress in a short time. Outside in the runs, he moves with quiet curiosity. Inside, he still gets nervous, but he’s allowed pets, remembered kindness, and is starting to trust the people who care for him. He may not quite understand the leash just yet, but with someone patient by his side, he’s going to get there. Martin isn’t a ready-made dog; he’s a once-in-a-lifetime relationship in the making. Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home.
