My story

Brahn was just a puppy when he was taken in by Joplin Humane society in 2023. He was finally adopted earlier this year, but unfortunately, due to no fault of his own, was surrendered by his new owners at Faithful Friends.We are still working on getting to know him, but so far Brahn has stood out as a playful and enthusiastic dog! He really enjoys entertaining himself with his toys, but if he's engaged and invited to play, he's glad to have you be apart of his fetch game, his long loping stride making quick work of any distance you throw his toys. Brahn is a larger dog with a medium-high energy level, a medium toy drive, and a HIGH food drive. Although he only knows his basic commands, his eagerness to work with you combined with his strong food motivation makes him easy to lure around. Even at the height of excitement, he's got a solid sit, and he's willing to trade his toy for treats anytime (which makes for a great future drop it/out command). He LOVES making new human friends and seems unable to remember his size. In an effort to get as close as possible, he's always one step away from trying to crawl into your lap. Although he can be a little pushy or over-eager, with guidance, patience, and some tasty treats, he's a quick study when it comes to learning how to regulate his big emotions and is happy to find his manners once he's been shown how. Brahn recently got to spend the afternoon on a "Doggy Day Out" with his in-shelter bestie Karma. He walked 3 miles, got to play in the creek, got a pup cup, and got to go to the dog park! His energy level lends itself to enjoying this busy of an outing, and he was a rockstar. He rode well in the car, waited calmly for his pup cup, was eager to approach humans and dogs to make friends with, and LOVED the water, eagerly jumping in, laying down in the water, and splashing around in it. With his positive outlook on life, infectious enjoyment of the good things it has to offer (friends, food, and play), and adorable ears, Brahn deserves to have a family that will stick it out with him past the adjustment period. This dog is highly social and would love an active family that will include him in their daily life.
