My story

This sweet and adorable guy is Mel and he's a 2 year old GoldenDoodle who is looking for his forever home. We rescued him from a family who lived in an apartment in Queens and could no longer take care of him. He's a very loving boy and we're looking for a quiet and mellow new home for him where he will get lots of love from his new family. He's a cuddle-bug who is living with a wonderful foster family on Long Island and their dog Charlie. They adore him and give him the love and calmness he craves. He gets alongs with other dogs and loves to go for walks and take nice long snoozes. He's loves walks on the beach but hasn't ventured into the water yet. He's a little shy when he first meets people but warms up quickly especially if you have a yummy treat. He loves everyone he meets and get along well with other dogs too. We think he'd do best in a home with a fenced in backyard where his family is home for big portions of the day. He could easily live as a solo dog because he just wants to be near his peeps and join them for adventures. He's an expert shopper at Home Depot! :) He's also super smart....he knows how to sit, go down, spin and stay. For those adopters who have never owned a Doodle, they're wonderful dogs that are hypoallergenic and don't shed! He's totally healthy and up to date on all his vaccinations. Important to know that Mel is a great dog but needs a small amount of training to build his confidence so if you're looking for a 'perfect' dog and aren't willing to support his training with love, patience and time - he's not for you.
