Noel: The Dog Who Keeps Getting Overlooked — Just Because of Her Label 4 years old • Spayed • Microchipped • UTD on vaccines • Currently undergoing heartworm treatment (paid for by rescue) Hi, I’m Noel. I didn’t ask to be born a pit bull. I didn’t ask for the judgment that comes with my blocky head and strong body. I didn’t ask to be returned to the rescue I thought I’d never see again — but here I am. Again. Waiting. I was adopted once. I was loved. But hard times hit my family, and when they couldn’t afford my care, they did the hardest thing imaginable — they brought me back so I could get the help I needed. I ended up with heartworm, but the rescue is taking care of everything. They believe in me. They know this is just a chapter, not the ending. I’m 50 lbs of cuddle. I think I’m a lapdog. I’m potty trained, crate trained, and I only bark if I have something important to say (like, “Hey! Someone’s at the door!”). I’m great with kids, sweet with people, and I can live with other dogs if we take our time with introductions. But still, I wait. People scroll past me. They see “pit bull” and assume the worst. They don’t know the truth: I am gentle. I am loyal. I am hopeful. If you meet me, you’ll see it too. You’ll see the dog I am — not the label the world gave me.
