My story

Meet Dunlop, a 3-year-old pup with a big heart and an even bigger love for tennis balls! This playful, treat-loving guy has been patiently waiting for his forever home and is more than ready to start his next chapter. Dunlop is full of personality—he’s smart, eager to please, and already knows how to “sit.” He absolutely loves chasing tennis balls, getting attention from his favorite people, and showing off his goofy, affectionate side. Dunlop would thrive with a family who can channel his enthusiasm and continue helping him learn all the fun things life has to offer. He’s the perfect mix of playful and loving, and he’s just waiting for someone to give him the chance to shine. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic, and fun companion, Dunlop is ready to be your new best friend!Dunlop would love to meet any potential canine siblings! Our staff will carefully handle all dog-to-dog introductions at the shelter to ensure a great match. Feel free to bring your pup along when you come to meet him!Dunlop had an amazing day out of the shelter, and he made the most of every minute! His adventure started with a walk on the trails at Swope Park, where he had a blast exploring—and yes, he was very interested in the squirrels! After that, he stopped by Ace Hardware to pick out a new harness and some treats, then swung by McDonald’s for a few chicken nuggets (a clear favorite!). He enjoyed a long stroll through the neighborhood until he was ready for a rest, and then got to visit a big backyard. Even with all that space to run, Dunlop mostly wanted to stick close and play fetch. He’s incredibly affectionate, has fantastic recall, and loves to snuggle—especially in bed. This sweet boy is eager to please, super treat-motivated, and very gentle when taking snacks. Dunlop would make an amazing companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving pup to share in life’s adventures.Dunlop was able to go on another fun-filled day out and here is what they had to say, `Dunlap was an incredible adventure buddy! We started off the day playing some soccer and the boy has got some skills. We went for a walk, enjoyed the scenery and chased after every single squirrel we saw. He did amazing in the leash, only pulling when it was time to say ‘hello’ to his squirrel friends. We stopped by a pizza restaurant and had dinner on the patio. He did great sitting next to the table and accepted a meatball that was generously donated to the Dunlap Foundation. Overall Dunla
