My story

Meet Rocky! Rocky is a 2-year-old Alaskan Malamule mix with a calm, thoughtful demeanor. When approaching his kennel, he sits politely and enjoys taking treats gently. He’s a quick learner and knows `sit,` making him a responsive and well-mannered companion. Rocky is a bit head shy when it comes to putting on a slip lead, but with a little patience and a treat, he allows it without issue. On walks, he’s easy on the lead, alternating between light and medium pulling, and enjoys exploring his surroundings, sometimes he’ll stop to investigate something new before continuing with a little encouragement. Rocky is generally calm around both dogs and people and has a playful side, too! Rocky would thrive in a home that values his independent spirit and is patient with his occasional curiosities.Rocky recently met some social dogs at our shelter. He wasn`t aggressive, but he seemed uncomfortable and gave stress signals. He may be happiest as an only dog. If his adopter was willing to do slow introductions over a period of weeks, he may get more comfortable and successfully live with another dog. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too.
