Maxine

My story

Our super senior Maxine has had a rough life. She spent much of it outside and was left there when her owner moved away earlier this year. Maxine is 18 years old and her teeth were so bad she was not able to eat well. The amazing Dr. Les did a dental cleaning with extractions and now Maxine eats very well! Her bloodwork was good and barring any unforeseen circumstances, she should live into her 20s. Maxine was then adopted and returned for peeing outside of the box 😕 Maxine sleeps a lot and likes her space. She is very loved by all of us and her foster parents and we always want what is best for our animals. Maxine would love a quiet place to spend her golden years. She doesn’t enjoy other cats in her space and unfortunately, we all have multiple animals and fosters in our homes. Maxine would ideally like a room or area to herself where she can nap and get some love. She will come sit on your lap and be snuggly, but she can also swat at you if she feels that way instead. She grumbles sometimes and we think she’s earned the right to complain in her old age 😹 She uses her litter box, but sometimes pees outside the box - her body is in the box, but it goes over the edge. A puppy pad under the box helps with this. At her age, accidents should be expected and a room without a lot of furniture or carpet would make this easier. If anyone has a spot for her in their home and just a little extra time to spend with her, she would be happy and content ❤️
