My story

Meet Jerry, a Terrier puppy born approx 1/4/25. Jerry is not house trained, but is working on it. He is a champ at using the pad however and is very treat motivated so he makes sure to use the pad and get a treat after. He is quiet and keeps his kennel clean all night, but if he happens to need to go potty he will make a little noise, like pawing at the kennel or giving a little whimper. He is not a fan of being left alone in the kennel while his human is away but we are working on that. He is vocal but will eventually quiet and settle for a bit. Jerry shows interest in my small senior dog by barking and trying to get her to play but she tells him no. He will try to lay by her as well but she tells him no to that and he respects that. It never deters him from trying again though. He has also had his brother Kramer with him and they definitely keep each other busy. He has not been around kids or cats. I do believe he would do well with both, however, if properly introduced.  The only thing I have found that Jerry does not like is the word no. Collar and leash training are still in the works, but he is very excited and shows interest outside, he just needs to focus on the business at hand. As outside is all new to him, along with all the sights and sounds he just needs time to acclimate and he will be a great walker. He rides well in a crate in the car, quiet and calm, falling asleep at times. His energy level will require someone more active and ready for adventure. A fenced yard would be ideal if unable to get out and go for walks or hikes to burn off his energy as he has a lot of it. Jerry's favorite things to do are to eat, sleep, cuddle, and play with toys and his brother. They love running laps inside together. He really likes squeaky toys and really likes to get the squeaker out. He also likes kong type toys with his baby teeth.  He is left currently with his brother 3 days a week for 6-7 hours each day in the kennel and this is something we are still working on as again, he does not like when his human is out of sight. He is vocal but will calm down and settle eventually for a time. He requires a space where there is nothing he can chew on if not kenneled as he seeks out wires to chew on. He absolutely can and will escape a playpen if it is not covered. He can't wait to find his forever family!!      Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
