My story

Hi my name is Tabasco. Come along and listen to my story - but first, here's who I am: Despite all of the pain I have been through, I sure am a super nice cat. I am very much a gentle giant. Some might say a scardey cat when I am faced with a new situation.I get along with others and I am very polite and loving. All I really want is a home of my own where I will not be thrown out again. I sure hope someone out there can make me feel safe and happy again. I will sit on your lap and gaze into your eyes, with gratitude and love, and I promise, this is how I really feel. I love that now I'm well and feeling good!Disclaimer from foster mom - When she holds me I get so happy and lost in my good feelings, I'll make biscuits and drool in rapture. Here's my story: In May 2023, I was a stray that kept coming to a man’s house for food. I also liked his small dog. The man was not a cat person but he saw all four of my feet were bleeding and wanted to get me help. That is where Purr Partners stepped up for me. Little is known about my past but surely I belonged to someone because I am social with people and I was already neutered when I was found. Someone just put me out to fend for myself with 4 painful, bleeding paws.I am a really BIG boy - you might be surprised if you try to lift me. I am a great sport and have endured over a year of medications and treatment for my condition. It’s called plasma cell pododermatitis, sometimes called pillow paws. It takes a long time to get better. Now, Purr Partners has had a few cats, in the past, with this medical problem but they only had one foot involved. Once they recovered, the problem did not recur. They believe this will be the case for me, too, after all I have been through. No one had seen a case as severe as mine. My feet are finally better and I really just want to be a normal cat. I do need a prescription diet to keep me from having allergic reactions which is one of the causes of pillow paws. But I like the food, so no worries there!I am just an easy going, loving boy. I get along with other cats, dogs, and would be gentle enough to be with kids. I know there is someone out there looking just for me - a big orange and while love muffin!I don’t think you will be disappointed if you give me a chance. For more information or to apply to adopt, please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/
