My story

Please contact Debbie (Deb@AmericanbulldogRescue.org) for more information about this pet.  Age: Almost 2 his DOB is 8/27/2023 Weight: 80 lbs Location: Philadelphia, PA Nicknames: Good with other dogs?: Yes! He loves to play! Good with cats? Yes but he does chase them sometimes so a dog savvy cat. Tyson lives with 3 cats in his foster home. Good with children? Unknown. But Tyson loves everybody! While he probably would do well with kids, he does steal things to chew and a kid's toys, shoes, school bags/books, and sports equipment would be a huge temptation. Activity Preference: Will go with the flow, likes car rides, likes walks, playing with his canine foster sister, naps, no-hides, bones, and stuffies. IQ: He is pretty smart and picks things up quickly. Tyson's favorite things: Tyson loves being with his foster mom and dad and his canine foster sister. He's up for car rides, walks, playing with his canine foster sister, doing anything for a treat, napping next to his humans and dog sister. Tyson is good at: riding in a car, meeting people, getting along with other animals, being a cuddle buddy, following commands, staying in the crate, learning good manners. Ideal home:  a fenced yard, someone who maybe works part-time, another dog who matches his personality and activity, an active home where he will get lots of playtime and walks. Training Needs: Tyson is still learning commands (basic things like how not to counter surf or get into the trash). Health issues: Tyson is heartworm, lymes and anaplasmosis positive. His heartworm will be treated before he goes home. The lymes and anaplasmosis was treated with antibiotics. There is nothing more to actively treat for those. We suspect he has an allergy we are awaiting allergy test results. Meet Tyson: Tyson is a young boy has had quite the journey for being so young.  His first owner passed away, his second owner had legal troubles and left him alone in the home. Fortunately, a kind neighbor, his third owner, noticed and would go over and feed Tyson and let him out.  Eventually, he moved Tyson into his home but unfortunately, the resident dog didn't want Tyson there and was awful to him. So, he was put into the garage and we were contacted. Tyson arrived after a very long trip.  He was immediately friendly with tail wagging.  He's a goofy, sweetie who will have you laughing. He is a happy boy who loves playing and having fun just as much as he likes laying next to his humans and canine sister!  Tyson greets anyone who comes into his foster home as a friend! He lives with 3 cats who he ignores sometimes and chases others.  Tyson shares his foster home with Winnie (also adoptable) and they are besties! Tyson would do best where he is not alone for a full long work day every day of the week, a canine companion, a fenced yard, and lots of opportunity for mental and physical activity. PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Remember - Adoption is always the best option!
