*** Rory is in a foster home. ***Rory #19581: buff tabby, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 6/1/16Cats: comfortableDogs: has lived withChildren: gentle tweens+ BACKGROUND: When Rory’s guardian passed away from cancer, her daughter reached out to see if we could help him find a new loving home. PERSONALITY: Rory is the sweetest cat you will ever meet! He is easily trusting once he has a chance to settle in to a new space and he in particular loves to lie on top of you. He’ll give you a nudge with his head, lick your face and hand, and generally likes any type of pets he can get, but one thing Rory is a big fan of is butt taps: a gentle pat-a-pat-pat on his rear. (Then again, chin scritches are also nice…) He’ll settle on you for endless pets and attention and contact though the night, and is so happy to be with you that he may sometimes try to wake you up for more active love and cuddles. Rory does appreciate a dark cozy nook when he’s not feeling as social or is adapting, but he will always come out for feeding time and when he is feeling sociable. He loves his wand toys and scratchers as well as laser pointers and anything with bells! COMPATIBILITY: Rory is comfortable around other cats and will sometimes play with them, though he doesn’t seek out their company for physical contact or naptime (that’s for humans). He has lived with a dog. We don’t know his thoughts on children though suspect he’d be sweet with gentle tweens and up who are respectful of personal space when needed.Rory is so easy to love and he makes you feel just as loved in return! Will you adopt this sweetie? While healthy, Rory has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat’s immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. A good informative website is FIVCats.com.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rory, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
