My story

This handsome little escape artist is having a hard time finding his place in life. His name is Rue. Rue entered into a small breed rescue for unknown reasons to animal control. After placed through rescue into what he thought would be his permanent home, Rue got away from his owner. His owner drove past what she thought was him deceased and stopped looking for him. Well, thanks to his microchip, Rue was actually turned into another rescue that had contacted the initial rescue, that contacted his owner on file. This is when she explained she thought he was deceased and no longer wants the dog. Rue then found himself running at large from the second rescue who had custody and nobody was ever able to find him for two years. That is because his finders decided to keep him. They too were unable to keep him contained. Well, you see, he has 'escaping' MASTERED, so he found himself with animal control this time. Animal control made contact with the rescue through the microchip and found the rescue had dissolved since COVID-19. The people who had him for the last two years also failed to come forward. So this will be Rue's SIXTH home, and we are hoping his forever home. Rue is scared in the shelter and hides frequently. Rue MUST go out to use the bathroom ON LEASH ONLY! If you think you have what it takes to confine all 6 lbs of Rue, fill out an application today!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rue, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
