Ember

My story

Ember, a beautiful Calico mama, came to our foster home with her babies three weeks ago. After being dumped at Cal State Fullerton, she had her babies one week later, fiercely protecting them for four weeks, alone, against the elements. Now in our foster home, Ember is slowly getting comfortable trusting us with her and her babies. It is obvious that she has experienced trauma and is used to taking care of herself and her kittens. What started as hissing when we came to say hi, has turned into very sweet little chirps and squeaks as she learns to trust and find her voice. Her kittens have all found homes and will leave her in a couple of weeks and she is looking for the same. The best fit would be someone willing to be patient, speak gently and kindly, and provide a space in which she can realize the power of love and affection. Ember is an incredible mother and I know she will blossom in her own time.
