My story

Meet Munchie, a 2-year-old, 22-lb mixed breed and proud New Yorker with soulful eyes and a big heart. Equal parts curious explorer and snuggly sidekick, Munchie loves long walks, sniffing every corner of the block, and then curling up for a nap next to his person. He's a true sweetheart and charms people instantly with his confident strut and silly personality. Munchie loves affection—just on his terms. He’ll ask for pets, cuddles, and belly rubs, especially when he’s feeling relaxed. He prefers not to be picked up and if something feels off to him, he’ll politely let you know with a little grumble. He thrives with people who can read his cues, respect his space, and give him time to warm up.  Munchie is fully housetrained, walks great on leash, sleeps through the night in his crate, and is working on basic commands. He can be a little stubborn (especially when there are smells to investigate), but he is very responsive and stays out of trouble. He can struggle with separation anxiety and gets overwhelmed and protective with new visitors inside the home. A calm, structured environment with understanding humans and gentle introductions will help him feel safe and secure. Pro-Tips for Munchie’s Ideal Home  Do's: Provide daily enrichment and plenty of exercise. He loves to play! Give him time to decompress and explore at his pace Respect his space and let him initiate affection Don’ts: Surprise him with too much touch or fast movements Expect him to be a social butterfly right away Leave him alone for long periods without a plan for support Munchie would flourish in a quiet home without young children where he can be the center of attention—or potentially with another calm, well-matched dog. He’s a loving little guy who is ready for his next chapter, and with a patient adopter who can understand his fears and cheer him on as he comes out of his shell, Munchie will grow into a loyal companion. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, lepto, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
