My story

A20087 Moose is a black and brown colored, approximately 5-year-old, 83-pound, neutered male, German Shepherd / Saluki mix. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 04-04-2025 due to the fact they say he was aggressive with the other dogs in the home. Moose is a friendly, shy, but easy to handle boy here at the shelter. He is still trying to process this shelter environment. Our staff says he is a sweet boy who likes affection. Saying he is smart, people oriented, and just looking for reassurance from you. He was easy to leash, and excellent during our walks with no pulling, just a nice easy walk next to you. He has had some training and will “sit” “shake” “down” “stay” and “come here” upon command. He has done well in group play with our other large shelter dogs. The previous owner says he is house broken, and he has lived with other dogs, and children, but not cats. She also said he has a short fuse with other dogs, was protective of her children, which made him worse with other dogs and he resource guards his toys and food. We would recommend a home with no small children because of her description of him, teenagers would probably be fine. Moose has done well in our group play here at the shelter. Moose will be a loyal companion in his new forever home.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Moose, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
