My story

At 21 weekd old Muffin has had a pretty tough life. This poor girl was very sick, when she was found abandoned in a ditch with her mother and siblings. They were all very sick, very hungry and in general were very lucky they got found when they did. After a long battle and multiple vet trips, it was found that Muffin has a chronic illness of the herpes virus and calici virus. This is a virus that she will carry for the rest of her life. It is contagious to other cats. When an outbreak does occur it is very treatable. We do give her an extra supplement to help boost her immune system. Symptoms will appear generallly for her after a stressful event, even if the stress is good, she will show symptons. Her symptoms most of the time are just wattery eyes. Her adopters are going to have to understand that she will require veterinary treatment multiple times during her life. Muffin is a little shy and will be best served if we place her with her sister Willow. If you are interested in giving this little darling a soft place to land, please email adoption@columbiahumane.org to obtain an adoption application. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgMay 11, 2025, 6:52 am
