Tito is a sweet and tenderhearted dog who is about 3 years old and weighs 37 pounds. We rescued him from a shelter near the border of Mexico. He had a collar that was never changed and he still has scars from that experience. He has been with us for a year and is now ready for his own home. He does have a warm-up period when meeting new people. Once he knows you will be kind, he loves to get attention and affection. Coming from the environment he was in previously, it is apparent that he wasn’t handled very much so he just needs time to trust and know that he is in a safe space. He needs a safe yard, with a collar and harness until he feels safe and comfortable. He gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue and would benefit from another dog in the home. He would do best in a calm and patient home without small children where he can acclimate to new surroundings and learn to trust. He is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call his own! Tito is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Chelsea, MI on June 28th with approved application. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. If you would like to add this tender cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) All age-appropriate vaccines Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Spay/neuter surgery Microchip *The breed(s) listed are guessed and based on the dog's physical appearance* Tito tested positive for Chagas disease and has started treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. For more information, please review here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/chagas
