My story

Meet Jelly Roll — a squishy little snack of a dog 🍩🐾 At 9 years young and 20 gloriously pudgy pounds, Jelly Roll is a Chihuahua mix who lives up to his name in every possible way. He’s soft, sweet, and shaped like something you'd see in a bakery window and immediately regret not ordering. Seriously, this guy is a living cinnamon bun with eyes. Jelly is a gentle soul. He’s sweet as syrup with both his foster mom and her dog, spreading calm vibes and cuddly energy wherever he waddles. He’s also crate-trained, and we mean trained—like, “thanks for the tour, I’ll be in my crate if you need me” levels of chill. 💤 He’s got excellent leash manners, strutting his stuff politely on walks like the good boy he is. He’s respectful with other dogs and greets human strangers with his signature soft sweetness). Car rides? Well, let’s just say Jelly Roll has opinions. He might bounce around a bit and let out some whines, especially if he’s in a crate. 🚗 As for potty training, we’re giving him a gold star ⭐️—as long as he’s on a schedule, Jelly Roll knows where to go. There were a few early accidents, but we’re chalking that up to the whole “new house, new smells, new roommates” chaos. If you’re looking for a lovable, low-key dog with a round body and an even rounder heart, Jelly Roll is ready to roll into your life. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
