My story

Meet Rosco – a gentle soul looking for a fresh start. Rosco is just a little over a year old and still very much a puppy at heart. He was recently surrendered to Animal Control, and unfortunately, we don’t have much background on his previous life. What we do know is that he came from a home with other dogs and has shown us nothing but sweetness since arriving. Rosco is incredibly affectionate—he lights up when people are around and leans right in for pets and attention. He clearly craves connection and love, and he’s ready to bond with someone special. Despite his friendly nature, Rosco seems to have missed out on a lot of early socialization. He’s unsure about new situations, nervous on a leash, and generally lacking in confidence. It’s clear he just hasn’t had the chance to experience much of the world yet. But here’s the beautiful part: Rosco wants to trust. He’s curious, he’s trying, and every day he shows us little glimmers of growth. With gentle guidance, consistency, and positive experiences, Rosco has all the potential to grow into a happy, confident companion. He would thrive in a calmer home—perhaps with another friendly dog to show him the ropes—and with a patient adopter who understands that progress comes in small steps. In return, Rosco will give you endless affection, loyal companionship, and the joy of watching a shy dog bloom into his best self.
