FIV+DOB: 3/16/2023 Maeve — The Enigmatic Flamewalker No one knows exactly where Maeve came from. Some say they saw her dart through the smoke of a burning house, fur singed at the tips and golden eyes glowing like embers. Others whisper she once belonged to a quiet old wizard whose cottage vanished in the night, leaving only ash and pawprints. All we know for certain is that she arrived at the shelter alone, silent, and with a gaze that sees far more than it lets on. Maeve is not the kind of cat to rush into affection. She watches from the shadows at first, assessing, calculating—waiting to see if your heart is worth her trust. But if you’re patient, if you move with kindness and speak softly, Maeve will come to you. And when she does, it’s not just a cat you’ve won over—it’s a companion with a soul full of secrets, a loyal shadow who will always be near. She prefers high perches and quiet corners, like a rogue planning her next move. She’s not one for chaos, but she finds peace in calm company. Maeve would thrive in a quieter home where someone appreciates the slow unfolding of a true connection. If you’re the kind of person who reads between the lines, who respects the power of silence, and who knows the rare treasure of earning trust from a guarded heart—Maeve might just be your chosen one. Adopt her… if you dare to uncover the legend. Come meet me at the cage free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection. FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered.
