Simba is a beautiful black domestic shorthair with striking white whiskers and soulful eyes. She’s 14 years old, affectionate, playful (especially with feather wands!), and loves human company. Her story is special: Almost 2 years ago, I rescued Simba and her sister from a local park, where they had been abandoned after their previous guardian passed away from cancer. I got them medical care, treated Simba’s eye infection, and welcomed them into my home. Her sister sadly passed away in March, and I’ve been trying to help Simba adjust to life with my two young male cats since then. Despite all the right steps and a lot of patience, Simba isn’t getting along as well with my younger male cat. She’s good with cats who give her space (like my older one), but does not do well with pushy or overly social cats. It’s become clear she needs a calmer home where she can feel truly at ease. Health & Special Needs: Simba has a sensitive stomach, but it’s well managed with a consistent diet with probiotics. She also takes a low dose of Gabapentin to help keep her calm during this transition period. She’s otherwise healthy, up to date on vaccines, and spayed. Ideal Home: Simba would do best in a quiet, loving home with: No other pets or one calm, respectful cat Someone who understands older cats and their routines Patience and kindness to help her feel safe again She’s a wonderful companion who still has lots of love and life left to give. If you’re looking to give a senior cat a second chance at comfort and peace, Simba might just be your girl. Simba is being cared for by a member of the community.
