Matilda

My story

They say good things come in small packages and Matilda is certainly one of them. She is a 12 year old, 4 lb. Yorkie who came into our rescue as a stray. She is cuddly, smart and feisty. She is happiest sitting in your lap all day and will become your shadow. Currently there are 3 small dogs in Matilda’s foster home. She is not shy about joining in if they bark or if she has something to say. Matilda is a force to be reckoned with. She may be small, but she is mighty. She knows exactly what she wants and is very determined. Matilda has a good appetite and  will guard her food if another dog approaches. She is fed twice daily - Royal Canin Adult canned food, Stella & Chewy Super Beef and Performatrin Ultra. We sometimes chop up chicken and add it to her canned food. She enjoys Benny Bully treats. As tiny as she is, Matilda can climb small dog stairs to the couch as well as run up a stairs with no problem. At night she sleeps in bed with her foster mom. There is a ramp which she sometimes uses, but often prefers to jump off the bed on her own. Matilda is fine in the car for travelling  Matilda has been spayed and is up-to-date with all her vaccines. She does a little reverse sneezing. She appears to be housetrained however, sometimes she uses puppy pads but there are a few accidents so we use diapers. Matilda could easily live in a condo or house. She does like the backyard. She would do best in a home with someone retired or who works from home.
