Meet Zirkel! Zirkel entered Los Angeles Animal Care and Control-Lancaster Shelter as a stray. When his stray hold ended, we scooped him up to become a Frosted Face on April 13th. Zirkel is estimated to be 12 years old, and he weighs 11 lbs. We learned a lot about Zirkel when he went a Frosted Field Trip and spent several days in a home setting. He earned this glowing review: "Zirkel is a very gentle and loving boy. He's very easy to take care of and love. He’s very trusting of people. He will immediately show his belly and ask for rubs all day. If you stop giving them, he’ll politely ask for more. Zirkel is great in the car. He enjoys the ride and then falls asleep in the car seat. He has a good appetite and isn’t picky about his food. He had no issues with food around other dogs. Zirkel is good on a leash and enjoyed short walks around the block. He loves to sleep for most of the day, unless you’re up and about, then he will likely be following you around. Zirkel is very quiet. He had no problem with me cleaning his face or checking his mouth, so I’d imagine he is just as easy for a bath. ZIrkel had no problem with my small dog. He was able to navigate his way up the regular stairs, doggy stairs, and sometimes just skipped them and jumped right up onto the couch. Zirkel is so loving and deserves a great home!" Zirkel is currently on his next adventure -- a two-week Frosted Fling -- and he is earning more praise for being an all-around good boy! Read on... "Zirkel has been here for a week and a half. He is such a sweet little man. He doesn't like being left alone so I take him with me as much as I can. He will sit quietly in a sling when we go in stores. When I needed to be gone for several hours, Zirkel stayed with my sister and my dad. I've left him crated for a couple of short errands, and he is whining less. He might do better out of a crate, but I can't leave him unattended with the cats. Not that he would hurt them, but he doesn't want them in his area. Zirkel seems interested in toys, but I suspect he has some painful teeth because he didn't seem to be able to pick up the ball comfortably. His intake exam is on Tuesday, so we'll see. ZIrkel is fine with my dog. He did really well for his bath. He even seemed to enjoy the "massage" of being soaped up. Zirkel is potty trained, but his signal is pretty subtle. He wakes up and gets restless as opposed to going to the door. Zirkel likes walks slowly and would probably be happy with short walks. He has a good appetite."
