My story

Please contact Mollie Gorney (mollieg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Cute Muffin needs a forever home!MUFFIN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name: Muffin  Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair Age: 8 years as of April 2025     DOB: 4/21/16       SEX: Female      Approximate Weight: 12.2 lbs Coloring: Orange Tabby   Type of Hair: Long Gets Along With:  With proper integration, Muffin will likely get along with cats, dogs, and kids with an acclimation period. We’re happy to help with tips and tricks.   Currently Living at: DC area foster home I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Muffin, and I am a sweet kitty! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be myself. What My Foster Says About Me: Muffin is a pretty independent kitty, but is getting more cuddly every day with some big strides more recently! She's always fine with being pet and she'll rub up against your leg, she's just not a lap cat yet - but that's changing. She's started coming up onto my bed and laying down for a few minutes at night (which she never used to do) and she's moving progressively closer when she does. She's also started staying on my lap for longer. Most of her day is spent lounging on her cat condo looking out the window or laying in her bed, but she's always excited to play with a wand toy. She's usually very mellow, but the wand toy gives her the energy of a younger cat. She is a champion scratcher - she hasn't scratched any of the furniture besides maybe gently making some biscuits on the carpet. If she wants to scratch something, she goes to either the scratch platform or the scratch post that I have.   There haven't been any issues with the litter box, even when she was sharing it with another cat, and she doesn't beg for food. The only times I've heard her meow are when I pick her up or when it's time to be fed, which is usually around early morning (6:30-8:30, around there) and then in the evening around 8 or 9 p.m. She doesn't meow to try and get attention or try to get food outside of when she gets fed. I've noticed she's been good about not overeating. :)    When people say cats are just like roommates, they're pretty much describing Muffin. I think someone looking for a chill, low-key cat that's still affectionate (even if it takes a little while) would be a perfect fit for her!  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for adult cats is $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together). The adoption fee for a kitten (under 7 months old) is $220 ($380 for two kittens adopted together). If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckycat.
