My story

Avril and Haley are a darling 1 year old old pair of female Golden/Great Pyr littermates at about 50 lbs. They came to GRRAND as strays and everyone at the GRRAND kennel says they are very sweet and loving. They love people and other dogs and they are 'puppy' playful, but no 'mouthing'. Typical of puppies, they are very curious, and it cracks the kennel team up when they gang together to bark at a new dog on the other side of the fence - but no aggression. They are gentle dogs, and they will get fairly large, probably 65 - 80 lbs. We are working on some basic skills, and almost have 'sit' conquered! Avril and Haley are very bonded and cuddle together in their kennel run every night." These girls are happily in a foster home and this is what we are told: "These gorgeous sisters are they’re the gentlest, sweetest, and goofiest girls you’ll ever meet. They are a bonded pair, as they were littermates but double the dogs means double the love! They have been in the shelter since May, and we are happy we could take them in as fosters! About the girls:  • They’re about 50 lbs each, and may grow to ~80 lbs • Great with other dogs - unsure about cats, since they have not been around any • No food aggression (or aggression in general) - they even share bowls sometimes, it’s so cute! • We are working on house training and basic commands • Beginning to enjoy car rides - they’re bribed easily with pup cups and lots of pets!  • Not yet spayed - appointments for them both have been scheduled and will be covered by GRRAND Their personalities:  Avril is can be shy around men at first, but she’s incredibly affectionate once she feels safe. Hayley may bark a few times when meeting new people, but give her a minute and a few pets, and she’s ready for snuggles. Both are laid-back, playful, and endlessly sweet. Avril is house-trained, and Hayley is being a bit more stubborn. LOL  Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard... meaning direct access to the yard from the home… so this means no apartments or condos.  They will be looking for a family with LOTS of time and patience to socialize and work with a puppy so they can grow up to be good pups! ***Exercise and direction are a must as a tired puppy is a good puppy!! It is a lot of fun, but it is a lot of work, and if you don't have the time, an active and non-stop playful puppy may not be for you!  If you would like to meet them, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##2357261##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Avril, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
