Birch

My story

A27092 Birch is a gray tabby colored, approximately 2-year-old, 8-pound, neutered male, Domestic Short-Haired cat. He entered the shelter as a stray on 04-14-2025 and was altered by our medical staff. Birch is a friendly, but timid and shy boy here at the shelter. He is still trying to adjust to this loud shelter environment and figure out why he is here. Our staff says he hides behind his litterbox most of the time, looking for that safe space. He does enjoy affection and will lean into head rubs, but you have to go slow. We think her personality will come out when he is away from the shelter. We recommend an adult-only home and a patient new owner that will give him time to decompress and get comfortable. In the playroom he picked a safe cubby to hide in and watch the room from. Birch will be a loving companion in his new forever home.
