My story

Meet Nutter Butter and Rolo – A Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home! Nutter Butter (6 lbs) and Rolo (14 lbs) are two sweet Papillon mixes, both around 6–7 years old, who came to us from a hoarding situation. These boys are a bonded pair and must be adopted together — Nutter Butter, in particular, relies on Rolo for confidence and comfort. Both dogs are shy and take time to warm up to new people and environments. Nutter Butter is especially fearful and jumpy, but once he learns to trust you, he becomes a loving little lap dog. Rolo is also a bit reserved at first, but his calm presence helps Nutter Butter feel safe. They recently had dentals and each lost many teeth, so they'll need soft food and a bit of extra TLC. They're not housetrained yet and don't walk well on a leash, so a patient adopter willing to work with them on basic training is essential. These boys are food-motivated once they’re comfortable, which helps with bonding and training. They get along well with other dogs and cats, but would do best in a quiet, adult-only home with someone experienced in helping shy dogs blossom. They’re not interested in toys, but they’re absolutely interested in being someone’s couch companions — in time, they’ll make wonderful lap dogs.
