My story

Meet Sugar, a 2-year-old cutie with the most adorable face and a heart full of love! She’s been social with her handlers, staying close, leaning in for pets, and showing off her “sit” skills. Sugar enjoys playing with toys and being near her favorite people. She previously lived with a young child and would bark or jump when excited, especially around unfamiliar kids or adults—so we recommend all family members meet her before adoption.Sugar hasn`t lived with other dogs and may bark or act unsure at first, but she’s shown interest and loose body language during slow introductions. She’s still learning doggy social skills, so a gradual intro and separation plan will help her succeed. Sugar was mostly an outdoor dog, so adopters should treat her like a puppy when it comes to potty training with a consistent routine and praise.She became panicky during medical handling, so a fear-free vet and possible calming meds are recommended.
