My story

Astro | 3.5 years old | 75 lbs. Greetings! My name is Astro, and I arrived at K9s For Warriors in December of 2024. After spending a few months in the Service Dog program, I’ve come to realize something important—what I truly long for now is a forever home where I can simply be me: a playful spirit, a loyal companion, and your biggest fan. I’m all about living life to the fullest chasing my favorite toys, learning new tricks, and romping around with my best furry friend, Samantha! I might be a little unsure when meeting new people, and I can get a bit vocal about it, but with patience, kindness, and a gentle introduction, I open up beautifully. Once I feel safe, you’ll see just how deeply I bond through play, shared adventures, and sweet, quiet snuggles. I do like having my own cozy space, especially when it’s treat time—I’m a fan of enjoying those special moments in my crate where I feel secure and relaxed. I’d thrive in a calm, low-traffic home with someone who understands me, someone with a bit of experience and a whole lot of love to give.
