My story

Hey there, I’m Dexter—a 10-month-old bundle of love with the softest fawn-colored coat and the biggest puppy-dog eyes you`ve ever seen! I was found as a stray, but I’m ready to leave that life behind and start a new adventure—with you!I’m a pitty mix with a heart of gold and a playful spirit. I love playing with other dogs—zoomies are kind of my specialty. I`m still working on my basic manners (I’m learning “sit” and I think I’m nailing it so far!), but I`m eager to please and full of puppy enthusiasm.I have something called demodex, a non-contagious skin condition that’s treatable and doesn’t slow me down one bit! I’ll just need a little TLC and some regular vet check-ins to help me keep looking and feeling my best.I should be supervised around small kiddos and cats—I’m still learning boundaries and might get a little too excited sometimes. But I’m a quick learner and with patience and love, I know I’ll thrive.If you`re looking for a sweet, silly sidekick to grow and adventure with, I might just be your guy. Come meet me and see if we’re a perfect match!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100.
