My story

Sweet baby Bella Mae isn’t just an ordinary affectionate, adorable puppy; she has a secret alter ego! Her volunteer friends have just begun to catch glimpses of Bella Mae`s transformation into a MERMAID!! We should have known, as Bella Mae shows so many mermaid characteristics- she’s beautiful, water-loving, playful, cautious, curious and enthusiastic! Her volunteer friends are in awe of her transformation in her time in the shelter, going from a timid baby to a brave, adventurous little gal! Some of her biggest fans have shared: “Since I`ve been working with her, young Bella has improved significantly and shown that once she gets to know you, she is affectionate and enjoys being pet. The key to winning Bella`s heart is to go very slow at first. She enjoys taking walks and sit downs in the park. Bella is a good girl!”“Bella Mae is a petite little sweetie. She was eager to be leashed up and was easily walked over to a play yard. Once in the yard she had a complete blast running around, leaping and playing with her kennelmate and then she cautiously came over for snuggles. After she realized that I was a safe and gentle person, she was all in for snuggle time! She was super lovey and affectionate, soliciting pets and giving me the sweetest little kisses.”“Bella Mae had THE BEST TIME EVER in the play yard today! This little girl is a water dog through and through! She spent her whole time in the yard jumping in and out of the pool, rolling around in the water, laying on her back and just having an absolutely rockin` time! She played with her kennelmate and chased him in and out of the pool. She is such a fun girl! At one point she came over to me for snuggles and was completely soaked. She rubbed her body against me like I was a towel, then the silly girl flopped onto the ground and rolled over for belly rubs! She is such a sweet pup! I love this little mermaid!”Bella Mae shares her kennel with a larger male dog and she enjoys rough and tumble play. She can hold her own and can often be found zooming back and forth across the play yard. She would likely love a doggy buddy to play with in her new home. Bella Mae is looking for a home with a family who will take things slow at first; when she feels safe, she will give you her whole heart (and a whole lotta kisses)! Come meet sweet baby Bella Mae today!
