My story

Meet Sugar! She is a 4-5 yr old spayed female Retriever/Lab mix that weighs 46lbs. She was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/17. Reason was they no longer wanted to care for her. All the noises at the shelter make her nervous and will shake in her kennel. When walking past other dogs barking at her she was frightened. However, once she is out, and in a quiet environment such as the shelter yard, she begins to relax, and the most wonderful personality comes out. She loves to be petted and loved on. She will roll over for tummy rubs with a big smile on her face and will give you kisses. You can see that she treasured her family and doesn`t understand why she was abandoned. She walks well on a leash once away from the noise, takes treats gently and maybe housetrained. She wants to trust as was seen as she sat with her back to me and allowed me to give her hugs and kisses. It is clear she would make a wonderful companion to a loving family. She has captured my heart, and if you spend some time with her you will be smitten too. Come meet Sugar!
