My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:1Meet Pez – a young, chocolate-colored cutie with a heart full of potential just waiting to shine. &#226&#156&#168 At just 8 months old and 53 lbs, Pez is at the very beginning of his journey. He may be shy and cautious right now, but behind those wide, worried eyes is a pup who wants to trust, wants to play, and is just waiting for the right person to show him it’s okay to let his guard down. Pez is already showing signs of being a thoughtful, sensitive, and incredibly sweet companion. He walks closely by your side, takes treats gently, and leans into quiet reassurance. He may hesitate in new environments, but with gentle encouragement and patience, he’s learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. In playgroups, he’s calm and respectful, getting along well with other dogs. He may not be the first to join the fun, but he's soaking everything in—and in time, we believe he’ll be chasing tails and wagging with joy. His body says he's unsure, but his eyes say "I'm trying." Pez is looking for an adopter who sees who he can be—a loyal, loving, playful pup who just needs time and trust to blossom. A quiet home, patient people, and maybe even a confident dog friend could be just what he needs to help his confidence grow.
