My story

Meet Basil!Looking for a loyal companion who’s always by your side? Basil is a playful pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. Basil is a chihuahua mix about 1 year old and 15 pounds. Energetic and affectionate, she’s the kind of dog who thrives on companionship-whether you’re going for a walk, doing chores around the house, or just lounging on the couch, she’ll be right there with you. She absolutely loves to cuddle and will happily curl up next to you for a nap after a good play session.She loves playing with her sister Dill as well as other visiting dog friends and zooming around the yard. A total velcro dog, Basil is happiest when she’s with her people, following you from room to room and making sure you never feel alone. She’s got enough love and energy to fill a whole house and then some!While Basil will sometimes have accidents if she’s been inside for too long, she does well with regular bathroom breaks. She co-exists well with cats, dogs, and small children and is also kennel trained. She does super well sleeping in the kennel through the night.If you’re looking for a devoted, fun-loving best friend who’ll stick by your side through thick and thin, Basil is the one for you.She’d love to be adopted with her sister, Dill, but it’s not required.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it.
